Classic Methods for
Modern Students
We might live in a post-covid world, but many of our students are at a pre-covid academic level. With the rise of technology and social prevelance of anxiety, your child may face challenges that previous generations haven't gone through. If your student struggles to keep track of assignments,
or is not being challenged enough in school,
you have come to the right place. My goal is to show your child how capable they are, so that they build a healthy self-esteem, confidence in their knowledge, and an independent work ethic.
Parent Communication
Parents are the backbone of successful tutoring. The mutual trust and communication we weave together becomes the fabric of support for your child's academic success.Parents receive weekly progress reports so that you are always in the loop on how your child is doing. Reports include updates on academic, emotional, and organizational progress. We are in this together. I am here for your whole family!
Ms. Tavassoli's Bio
I am an alumni of Westminster Highschool, Class of 2012
Washington University in St. Louis, Class of 2016
and Georgia State University, Class of 2023.My B.A. is a dual degree in Anthropology and Women Studies. Most of my coursework focused on Public Health, Psychology, and History. I worked as a Teacher's Assistant for a sociology course on the AIDS Epidemic, and studied Human Rights in South Africa. My Master of Teaching degree is in Special Education with concentrations in Behavior Management, Dyslexia, and Reading Instruction.
I completed three practicums where I gained formal training on how to lesson plan, teach, and assess student learning.I began my teaching career after college as a poetry teacher and then as a college councilor for high school students in St. Louis, Missouri. I became interested in how to support students with learning differences, and began my pursuit of a Master's degree in my hometown of Atlanta, GA.After some years in the restaurant industry, political organizing arena, and small business management, I returned to the education realm, bringing with me a wealth of rich knowledge on how to serve people from every walk of life.I personally enjoy painting, gardening, cooking, and making herbal teas. The many generations of teachers in my family are a true gift in my life.
